With the onset of winter in much of the country, a snowmobile recall is very important.
The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission issued a recall of 3000 Arctic Cat snowmobiles because oil leaking into the engine compartment has caused some fires reportedly. Models affected by this recall include: 2009 Arctic Cat Z1, Z1 Turbo Sno Pro and the TZ1 Turbo.
Each of these models was sold at Arctic Cat dealerships between June 2008 and July 2009.
There were 8 reports of fires along with 25 additional reports of leaks that could potentially start a fire. This is the second recall in a year for the snowmobile and ATV manufacturer. About 10,000 Mountain Cat and Crossfire snowmobiles were recalled last December due to the risk of fuel leaks.
If you own one of these snowmobiles, discontinue use immediately and contact your local Arctic Cat dealer to schedule a free repair.
