For most of us, Mondays are horrible. Just when you’re good and relaxed off the last week, here comes Monday and the new work week.
But new data out from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics gives us even more reasons to dislike the first day of the work week.
From FiveThirtyEight:
In 2013, Mondays were responsible for about 167,000 instances of someone getting hurt at work – more than any other day. And this is a trend that holds up pretty well: Monday has been the most injury-prone work day of the week in all but two years since 2007.
Now talk about a bad case on the Mundays!!
It’s interesting that Monday has the highest incidence of work injury of any other day. Ironically, Fridays have the lowest number of incidents at around 145,000. Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday are generally the same.
So there you go – another reason to call in next Monday and take an extra day off. We don’t suggest making that routine, but take extra care and don’t get a bad case of the MUNDAYS!!!
